IK Multimedia releases new AmpliTube Fender® App with Audiobus compatibility and iPhone 5 support

Use authentic Fender amp-and-effects sounds along with your favorite
compatible audio apps, and get full support for iPhone 5 graphics

Modena, Italy – July 18, 2013 – IK Multimedia – the leader in mobile music apps and accessories – today announced the release ofAmpliTube Fender™ 1.5, a multi-FX app available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.  The update adds Audiobus compatibility, and the iPhone/iPod touch version features an enhanced user interface that fully supports the larger displays included in the latest versions of those devices. AmpliTube Fender, IK Multimedia’s guitar/bass amp-and-FX app, is the only officially certified Fender amp-and-effects models for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. A version for Mac/PC is also available.

Audiobus Compatible
AmpliTube Fender, with its amp & FX models and built-in recorder, can be used in any of the 3 Audiobus “slots”: Input, Effects, and Output. The Audiobus App (from Audiobus Pty Ltd, requires a separate purchase) makes it possible for audio Apps to connect together in real-time, which greatly adds to the creative potential of music making on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

When used in the Audiobus Input slot, AmpliTube Fender’s amp, stompbox, cabinet and microphone models allow users to input guitar or bass sounds with authentic and ultra-realistic Fender tone. In the Effects slot, those same effects can be used to process the sound from the app (or apps) in the Input position.

AmpliTube Fender’s processing and recorder can also be used in the Output slot. With the multi-track option added (via in-app purchase), the iPhone/iPod touch version of the app features a 4-track recorder and the iPad version features an 8-track recorder. Both multi-track upgrades include master effects, as well.

iPhone 5 Graphics Supported
AmpliTube Fender 1.5 includes support for the larger screen in the iPhone 5 and new iPod touch, with an enhanced GUI designed to take advantage of that extra real estate.

IK also added it’s Global Menu to AmpliTube Fender. Standard on all new and updated IK apps, the Global Menu consolidates many utility functions such as Settings, User Account, Help and more, all under one convenient menu, making it faster and easier to find such items.

Recording Features Updated
IK’s AutoFreeze function, which was included in the recent AmpliTube 3.0 update, is now available in the multi-track recorder in AmpliTube Fender. Once effects have been applied on a track, it automatically “freezes” the track with the effects, freeing up the processing to be used on a different track, but retaining the effects sound on the original track. The tracks automatically unfreeze when selected, allowing to go back and tweak the effects at any point, thus making AmpliTube Fender much more powerful as a mixing platform.

IK also added a pre-roll option to the recorder. When activated, two measures of count-off are played before the recording starts, making it easier to come in at the right tempo.

AmpliTube Fender: Rocking with Legendary Tone
IK Multimedia developed AmpliTube Fender in cooperation with Fender, who provided guidance, testing, and advice to help make the app as accurate and true to the Fender brand as possible.

Both the iPhone and iPad apps offer Fender amplifier, cabinet and stompbox models, including such acclaimed amps as the ’59 Bassman®, the ’65 Fender Twin Reverb®, the ’65 Deluxe Reverb® and more. Effects include the Fender Blender™ distortion pedal, as well as the Fender Compressor, Phaser, Tape Echo, Overdrive and Noise Filter pedals. Many useful and varied presets are included, or you can setup your own rigs, mixing and matching the gear to create your own custom Fender sound.

IK offers a variety of input options for connecting an instrument to a device running AmpliTube Fender (or other mobile audio apps), including iRig HD, the new high-definition audio interface, which also works with Macs; iRig STOMP, the first stompbox style audio interface; and the original iRig, the most popular mobile guitar interface of all time.

Pricing and Availability
AmpliTube Fender is available from the App StoreSM in both iPhone/iPod touch and iPad versions for $14.99/€13.99, or atwww.AppStore.com. The new version is a free upgrade for existing users.

Free versions of AmpliTube Fender are also available for iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, containing the identical functionality of the paid apps, but with a limited model set. Users can add the other Fender models via in-app purchase.

My Experience with Blackmagic Design’s Intensity Pro Card!!

I recently had the opportunity to test and review the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro Card. I was quite impressed to say the least.

According to the folks at BMD(Blackmagic Design)–>

Intensity Pro is the world’s first HDMI and analog component, NTSC/PAL and S-Video PCIe capture and playback card for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux computers. Intensity Pro is great for HDTV or standard definition editing using big screen televisions and video projectors. Intensity Pro works with uncompressed SD or HD video, and compressed codecs such as DNxHD, ProRes, DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50, JPEG, HDV and DV! Intensity Pro is a professional editing card featuring maximum real time effects in Avid Media Composer 6™, Apple Final Cut Pro™ and Adobe Premiere Pro™, with full support for both uncompressed and compressed AVI and QuickTime files. Intensity Pro also has full integration with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.

I tested mine with Windows 8 and Mac OS 10.8.4 and it did an amazing job, and imported video with extreme clarity and very quickly.

Here is a chart of the available inputs and outputs:

As Well as another

It seems to be a useful and power full device and I definitely recommend it to people that need to import and edit video.

Blackmagic’s Intensity Pro is a PCI Express card which allows you to capture footage from an unprotected HDMI source, along with analogue Composite, S-Video and Component footage. Believe it or not, capturing via HDMI could deliver superior quality from certain HD camcorders than a traditional Firewire link, and doing so with the Intensity can also deliver files which are quicker and easier to edit too.

In addition I found that when I used the card it can allow you to save space on your storage device. The Intensity can capture it, giving you 1/3 greater horizontal resolution. Obviously it’s not practical to lug a PC with you just to capture the full resolution from a tethered HDV camcorder, but there’s many studio-based applications which can exploit it. If you have a powerful but small pc or mac that can be taken with you then it can be advantageous.

If you are interested in one of these cards they are available on the apple store http://store.apple.com/us/product/TP150LL/A/blackmagic-design-intensity-pro-hdmi-card

Here is an unboxing video–>

as well as–>

Overall I am quite impressed by the Intensity Pro and Recommend it!!

Here is an overview from Engadget as well!!

http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/blackmagic-design-announces-intensity-first-hdmi-pci-express-ca/

I personally captured video with it, I also made a video to dvd, put it on a blueray, then captured it to my mac via the intensity pro as a test and it worked well, with amazing quality.

Personally I am working on a kickstarter project to do a documentary on autism and I plan on using blackmagic designs cameras and hardware to do the movie!!

I would definitely recommend their cameras and hardware!!

Valhalla, N.Y., June 24, 2013 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced the all new, premium FUJIFILM X-M1 compact system camera (CSC), the third interchangeable lens system camera introduced within the award-winning FUJIFILM X-Series. The X-M1 is a lightweight camera that includes the same 16.3 Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor used in the critically acclaimed FUJIFILM X-Pro1and X-E1 that delivers outstanding image quality, all in a premium, beautifully crafted body.

The X-M1 will ship with a newly-designed FUJINON XC16-50mm (24-76mm)*1 F3.5-5.6 OIS zoom lens that allows enthusiast photographers to capture crystal clear wide angle to mid-telephoto range images. The lens consists of 12 all glass elements in 10 groups including 3 aspherical elements and 1 ED element. The lens features seven round-edged aperture blades, which offer 17 stops in 1/3 EV increments for precise aperture control.

“The X-M1 is a perfect combination of power and performance, all within a lightweight and well-built chassis. Photographers and enthusiasts alike can confidently take the X-M1 everywhere they go, and it will deliver images that exceed their expectations,” said Go Miyazaki, president and chief operating officer, FUJIFILM North America Corporation.

“The remarkable new X-M1 with its large APS-C X-Trans sensor, 3” tilting LCD screen, new XC16-50mm lens and easy wireless image transfer, gives enthusiasts the ability to capture amazing quality images and also share them effortlessly.”

Award-winning 16.3 Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor and EXR Processor II

The FUJIFILM X-M1 uses the same large APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor that is found in the X-Pro1 and the X-E1 with a unique color filter array that minimizes moiré and false color without the need for an optical low pass filter. This makes it possible for the camera to maximize extremely high resolution, and to capture each image with accuracy and clarity when using high performance FUJINON lenses.

With the X-M1, users can set the sensor sensitivity from ISO200 to as high as ISO6400 in 1/3 step increments, and even take advantage of the extended range of ISO100 and ISO25600 to obtain amazingly clear and low-noise images even in low-light conditions when shooting at night or indoors.

Together with the EXR Processor II, the X-M1 gives customers incredible speed and response times with a start-up time of 0.5 seconds*2, a shutter time lag of 0.05 seconds and a maximum burst speed of 5.6 frames per second (max. 30 frames*3).

Compact performance and advanced features

The X-M1 compact ILC combines advanced features in a go-anywhere design. The X-M1 weighs just 11.6oz*4 and measures 4.6” W by 2.6” H by 1.5” D, about half the size of a traditional DSLR body. With a slim profile of 1.3” at its trimmest point, the X-M1 is easily carried anywhere, and can be trusted to deliver high-quality images.

Along with its large APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor, the X-M1 also features a 3” tilting high resolution LCD screen with 920,000 dots for easy image viewing and framing at various angles.

The 3” LCD monitor tilts at variable vertical angles, facilitating both low-angle and high-angle shots whether on or off a tripod.

The X-M1 gives users additional flexibility with its built-in high precision flash, with the guide number 7*5, and Super Intelligent Flash technology that automatically controls flash strength according to scene types to reduce highlight clipping.

Easy Image Transfer with WiFi® button

The X-M1 features a WiFi button that lets users transfer photos and movies*6 from the camera to smartphones, tablets and computers allowing enthusiasts to upload high quality images to social media sites for easy sharing.

To connect the X-M1 to a smartphone or tablet, users can download the free dedicated “FUJIFILM Camera Application” to their iPhone™ / iPad™ or Android™ smartphone or tablet device to transfer up to 30 pictures at a time from the X-M1. The app also lets users download movies, expanding the range of options available for enjoying pictures taken with the camera.

Intuitive design and easy operation

The intuitive design of the X-M1 gives users the ability for one-handed camera operation, which is perfect for the fleeting moments when you need to pick up the camera quickly and start shooting.

The X-M1 has its key operation buttons and dials positioned on the right side of the camera’s rear panel for easy use and quick picture taking. The Mode Dial for selecting the optimum setting for each scene gives access to the Advanced SR Auto function, which automatically recognizes each scene and selects the best settings for sharp and clear images.

The Advanced Filter function gives users a range of creative filters to apply and achieve unique and artistic looks. The use of two perfectly positioned Command Dials allows users to effortlessly adjust the aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation, while frequently-used functions are given individual buttons, thereby enabling intuitive and quick operation.
