mophie juice pack® – Samsung Galaxy S® III battery case and Powerstation– A Technewszone Overview

Recently I had the opportunity to test and review the mophie juice pack® – Samsung Galaxy S® III battery case. I was quite impressed to say the least. I also had the opportunity to test the powerstation battery pack as well.

The design and construction of both  were very nice. I tested the black juice pack with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and really like how it felt in the hand as well as the radical increase in battery life and its’ ability ability to let the phone be used for a long duration. I also tested the mophie juice pack powerstation® and it is also a solid device that really improves the life of products for people that need to charge their devices when away from a convenient power plus or usb port. It would be great on a train, bus, ship or airplane or for use while camping.

IK Multimedia Releases AmpliTube 3.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

IK Multimedia. Musicians First. IK
For Immediate Release:
IK Multimedia Releases AmpliTube 3.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
The complete mobile guitar studio adds timeline audio editing and new models
May 30, 2013  –  IK Multimedia, the leader in mobile music-creation apps and accessories, is proud to announce the new version of the highly acclaimed AmpliTube® App, which now adds a complete multi-track Studio with timeline audio editing and new gear models, making it the most comprehensive guitar and audio production app available. Now users can play, practice, compose and record complete songs from start to finish, anywhere inspiration strikes, on theiriPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The new release of AmpliTube completely changes the game for mobile music production and offers everything musicians need to quickly and easily record complete songs: a full guitar/bass rig; a multi-track recorder with effects; a new timeline audio editing suite for arranging, editing, mixing and mastering; a built-in programmable drummer; professional export features for sharing creations with the world; and the possibility to work simultaneously with other audio apps.
When used with the IK Multimedia iRig® line of guitar interfaces (like the new high-quality iRig HD, iRig STOMP or the iRig adapter), microphone products (like iRig Mic or iRig PRE) AmpliTube 3.0 provides an all-in-one solution with unmatched sound quality, guitar tone, recording flexibility and ease of use for the professional mobile musician.

The New AmpliTube Studio— Timeline Audio Editing Suite
The newest feature in AmpliTube 3.0 is the Studio, where users will see their audio tracks on a timeline with a waveform display, much like they are used to on their DAW (digital audio workstation) software on their computer. Audio regions can be manipulated with a full set of commands and controls: cut, copy, paste, delete, normalize, split (at playhead), create fades and crop clips.

Clips can easily be moved and adjusted with a simple gesture for precise alignment with other clips, and a grid feature provides “snapping” of regions to the timeline for easy positioning. Recording into a track is as simple as touching it, arming it and hitting record. AmpliTube Studio makes recording, arranging, editing and perfecting a complete song from start to finish a breeze, and once again revolutionizes the way musicians create on the go.

The new Studio is an extension of the AmpliTube recorder, which starts as a single-track recorder, and can be expanded to 4-track (iPhone/iPod touch) or 8-track (iPad) putting a full multi-track recorder with mastering effects the fingertips of the user. The multi-track recorder has features rivaling even the most sophisticated studio setups, like effects send and master multi-effects, which can add that professional feel to any recording. The recorder with the new Studio section is designed to allow players to quickly and easily get their musical ideas recorded, polished and ready for prime time.

A Complete Guitar Rig with New Gear
At its core, AmpliTube continues to be all about outstanding guitar and bass tone, and offers a full guitar/bass rig including tuner; selectable stomp box effects; amplifiers from the world’s top amp manufacturers like Fender®, Ampeg®, and Soldano®; collections from artists like Jimi Hendrix™, Slash and others; plus selectable speaker cabinets and microphones.

Exclusively for iRig HD users, AmpliTube 3.0 now also offers four new free gear models that address the tone needs of the most demanding metal and rock players — the Metal 150 and Metal W amps, and the X-Flanger and Wharmonator “Whammy” pedals. Never before has such a massive and comprehensive collection of tone machines been offered to mobile guitarists, right at their fingertips.

A Drummer Always in the Pocket
With AmpliTube’s built-in Loop Drummer, players will always have a professional drummer with them. Loop Drummer features complete groove “building blocks,” including intros, fills, main and alternate rhythms, and outros. It’s extremely flexible and easy to use, and covers virtually every style of music. Start with the free Rock style installed, and add more genre packs via in-app purchase, covering most musical styles, including Metal, Funky, Blues, and many others.

The Perfect Rehearsal Tool
AmpliTube also features a robust Song section that allows you to load pre-recorded material into it, change the tempo and/or pitch if desired, and practice along. This is a great tool for learning new material, or simply creating new riffs over existing material by using the “No Voice” center-cancel button that mutes audio panned to the center of the stereo field.

Supports Other Favorite Mobile Music Apps
AmpliTube is also Audiobus compatible, which means that it can be used simultaneously with up to 4 other compatible audio apps. Players can use other IK apps like SampleTank®, iLectric™ Piano or iGrand™ Piano; record material directly into the AmpliTube recorder or studio section; or use the AmpliTube signal chain as a tone generator, effects processor or recorder for other apps like GarageBand.

Price and Availability
AmpliTube 3.0 is a free update for all previous users and it’s available now on the App Store both as a free or paid app for iPhone/iPod touch or iPad for only $19.99 for new users. The new Studio feature is available as in-app purchase for $9.99 on iPhone and iPod touch and $14.99 on iPad for users who have already purchased the multi-track recorder, or at a special bundle price that includes also the multi-track recorder for new users.

The four new gear models are exclusively available to iRig HD interface users, through simply connecting the interface to the app.

Autism App Success Stories

appsforautism
appsforautism
appsforautism

For many autistic people, communication is a huge challenge. Laminated flash cards used to be the communication tool of choice; the leading technology available for self-expression. To teach new skills or express new feelings, parents and therapists had to hunt for new cards or instructional videos – a process that could take hours, days, or even weeks.

Joshua Hood, 28, had relied on such methods for most of his life, often finding himself unable to participate in school or family because he could not make himself understood. The family often had to resort to charades to identify just one item Josh might need or want. All that changed for Josh when he received an iPad. In an interview that originally aired on CBS News’ 60 Minutes in October, 2011, Josh and his mother spoke to CBS’s Leslie Stahl about the technology that changed Josh’s life. Now, with an iPad and an app called Proloquo2go, Josh is, according to his therapist Tammy Taylor, “part of the community…communication is the essence of being human. And here he is, communicating fully now.” So fully, in fact, that Josh can order his own breakfast at the local diner, talk about his favorite television show, Hogan’s Heroes, and express how he is feeling.

Organizations across the country are working to improve the understanding of autism and provide innovative communication options for those with autism, but funding is not always readily available. The Autism Project of Rhode Island was one of four charities to benefit from a special premier of the Michael Bay Transformers movie, but very few autism charities are lucky enough to land partnerships like this, which lend not only a big and newsworthy name like Michael Bay, but significant fundraising as well.

Many benefits can be derived from providing autistic children with the means of expression using technology. Take, for example, Carly Fleischmann whose parents, until she reached the age of ten, were advised to find residential care for her. At ten, Carly used one finger to slowly type three words that would change her life, “help teeth hurt.” By 17, she was taking honors classes and had co-authored a book with her father called Carly’s Voice: Breaking Through Autism, according to ABC News. Today the teen has a very active social media presence on Twitter and with her Facebook page “Carly’s Cafe” where she talks about herself, her interests and autism related topics.

Carly made the news recently after refusing to turn off her iPad during descent and landing on a flight from Los Angeles to Toronto. Carly has never been able to speak, cannot write, and can only type with one finger so her iPad (or computer) is truly her only quality means of communicating with the world. “I use the iPad like a prosthetic limb and not as a toy. I think that is what is blinding people on this issue,” she told ABC News. The plane’s pilot overruled the flight attendant and allowed Carly to keep her iPad on. If she had been forced to turn off the iPad she would have been unable to communicate for 50 minutes. That’s 50 minutes in which she could not have warned her traveling companion if she felt a seizure coming on, or any other essential concerns or communication she needed to express. What the flight attendant, along with many other people, don’t realize is that Carly’s iPad isn’t a typical entertainment device for watching the latest Michael Bay movie or listening to the newest song by Justin Bieber. Many autistic people need this type of technology to help them fit into the real world.

Not everyone with autism may respond to an iPad for learning or communication, but for the people that do it is imperative that we find a way to get the technology to them. As technology and apps evolve with new innovative ideas, those afflicted with autism will finally have the chance to greatly improve their lives.

Ipad 3 Secrets revealed? Maybe

New Ipad 3?

I have been a Apple products user since the Apple 2’s that I used in high
school. Our nonprofit’s intent if we ever get funded is to help autism via Technology, Music and the arts. We will donate tablets to schools. Due to this we are always intrigued by the latest technology.

New Ipad 3?
Will there be a new Ipad 3 soon?

According to Techradar

The Apple iPad 2 has been out for almost a year now, so it’s nearly time to say hello to iPad 3.

The web is teeming with rumours about the new iPad 3 processor, cameras and display, so we’ve gathered together as many details as we can on its possible specifications.

Of course, some of these can be taken with a pinch of salt, but there’s definite patterns occuring and we’d say the final iPad 3 release won’t be that far removed from many of these rumours

So what’s the word on the street about the next iPad?

Apple iPad 3 release date
The iPad 3 release date looks set for March or April 2012, with an iPad 3 announcement in March to coincide with the release of iOS 5.1.

Website YourDailyMac has unearthed iOS 5.1 carrier profiles which carry the possible iPad 3 release date of 9 March 2012 in their names.

However, we’d expect the iPad 3 announcement to be in February, with the iPad 3 US release date in early March and the iPad 3 UK release date in late March.

Apple news site iMore says the announcement will be 7 March, citing sources “which have proved reliable in the past” have confirmed the date ahead of any official announcement from Cupertino.

Digitimes reported in late November 2011 that panel makers had already started shipping panels for the new iPad 3 – a million in October and two million in November.

Foxconn, Apple’s major manufacturing partner, is said to have started production of the iPad 3 in January. 2012. A source at one of Apple’s partners also told Bloomberg also stated that the company began production of the iPad 3 in January, with a view to reaching full volumes in February.

Digitimes says the new model is expected to meet the heady heights of 9.5 to 9.8 million units over the course of Q1 2012.

The Apple iPad 3 will have a quad-core processor
It’s probable that the iPad 3 will have a brand spanking new processor, Apple’s A6 – which will surely be a quad-core ARM-based processor. Quad-core designs are coming from various ARM partners and the Tegra 3 has already been launched by Nvidia, as well as the Snapdragon S4 from Qualcomm.

According to the Korea Times in November 2011, the A6 processors are to be manufactured by Samsung, despite the companies’ ongoing patent battles.

Apple iPad 3 display
A retina display was widely predicted for the iPad 2, but of course the current iPad doesn’t have a double-resolution display: for now, that’s something you’ll only get in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Could an iPad 3 Retina Display be on the way? It’s the very first thing on our iPad 3 wish list.

The exciting news is that it looks as though it is happening, with Apple reportedly testing suppliers’ current shipments of 2048 x 1536 resolution 9.7-inch displays. Now that iBooks 2 has been launched (as of 19 January 2012), we’ve also seen further references to 2x iPad screen images – these will, most likely, be for iPad 3.

However, it’s not always been plain sailing for the display – rumours continued over the summer and autumn of 2011 that the retina display in the iPad 3 was continuing to be a challenge.

Back in May 2011, we reported that the iPad 3 could launch with a Samsung-made AMOLED screen, following rumours that Apple was in talks on the matter with Samsung execs. There have also been more LG and Samsung rumours, too.

However, according to the Wall Street Journal in late November 2011, Sharp will manufacture panels for the device. Apparently Apple is investing in infrastructure at Sharp’s LCD plant. Further rumours said that Apple is looking to implement some nifty dual LED lightbar technology into the iPad 3, apparently in a bid to counter-balance the brightness issue that the Apple tablet may have, due to its super-high pixel density.

A part leak in early December again pointed to a Sharp-manufactured 2048×1536 retina display and dual lightbar.

HELO TC: Helicopter, Remote-Controlled by iPhone, iPad or iPod touch at CES 2012

While at CES 2012 I visited the Griffin booth and wound up “winning” a Helo TC remote controlled Helicopter. On of my fellow aspie sons and I were very impressed by it. We plan on doing some tests and videos of it this weekend. I would like to the thank the folks at Griffin for it.

Here is a nice and funny video on Youtube with regards to it.

Press Info:–>

Rule the office airspace with HELO TC, the touch-controlled RC helicopter you control with your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

Download the free HELO TC app onto your iOS device, load your device into HELO TC’s Flight Deck and you’re ready to fly indoors in either of two ways:

Touch Control: Use a virtual joystick on your Multi-Touch display to maneuver the chopper.
Tilt to Steer: Tilt your iOS device to move the chopper forward, backward, and side to side.
Use the app to record and store up to three Flight Plans so you, or another pilot, can easily repeat a favorite flight pattern. Make up routes among the furniture, missions to fly, obstacles to avoid, goals to achieve, and replay them later with your friends.
Ready to Fly?

HELO TC comes complete with a precision twin-rotor remote-controlled helicopter and Flight Deck. The Flight Deck plugs into your iOS device’s headphone jack and translates your commands into infrared signals that beam to the helicopter.

HELO TC’s intuitive, easy-to-learn controls and twin-rotor design make for stable, controlled flight. And the HELO TC app provides features not available with other RC helicopters, such as Auto Land so you can bring HELO TC down for a safe landing with just a tap of the Multi-Touch display.

My opinion in reference to the 2 Commercials

I thought that the Apple commercial launched in 1984 attracted the worlds attention, it was unique and innovative and to many respects true. I remember how amazing the first black and white macs were. They were unique and interesting just like the Mac Cube.
In regards to the new commercial it is unique, and interesting. Now 27 years after the first commercial, Apple is now the trend setter, the innovator, the “big” guys. We shall see what the future brings.

I am intrigued by the new Honeycomb Android tablets. They should prove to be feature rich and powerful.
