Today, 1-11-2016 is the 5 year Anniversary of Technewszone.com!!!

Today, we have reached 5 years on the web.

For 5 years we have talked tech, reviewed products, tried to get funding to become a 501c3 to help autism!

We also do articles on autism and advocate to improve the lives of people with autism!

We like tech, especially 3d printing and Drones, plus videography.

Our intent in the next year is to do an educational event to help folks with autism involving 3d printers and tech, and to advocate for autism, and raise funds to help folks on the autism spectrum too! In the future we plan to use drones, 3d printing and tech to help autistic people appreciate and experience the world and technology and to do a documentary for autism. Please help us in our future efforts!antibullyasd imagecropped-autism-image-e1451411631479-1.jpg

RESEARCHERS LINK GENE TO INCREASED DENDRITIC SPINES – A SIGNPOST OF AUTISM The Autism News

By MedicalXpress

Scientists at the UNC School of Medicine have discovered that knocking out the gene NrCAM leads to an increase of dendritic spines on excitatory pyramidal cells in the brains of mammals. Other studies have confirmed that the overabundance of dendritic spines on this type of brain cell allows for too many synaptic connections to form between neurons – a phenomenon strongly linked to autism. The finding, published in The Journal of Neuroscience, adds evidence that NrCAM is a major player in neurological disorders. Previous UNC studies showed that knocking out the NrCAM gene caused mice to exhibit the same sorts of social behaviors associated with autism in humans.

“There are many genes involved in autism, but we’re now finding out exactly which ones and how they’re involved,” said Patricia Maness, PhD, professor of biochemistry and biophysics and senior author of the Journal of Neuroscience paper. “Knowing that NrCAM has this effect on dendrites allows us to test potential drugs, not only to observe a change in behaviors linked to autism but to see if we can improve dendritic spine abnormalities, which may underlie autism.

Maness’s finding comes on the heels of a report from Columbia University researchers who found an overabundance of the protein MTOR in mice bred to develop a rare form of autism. By using a drug to limit MTOR in mice, the Columbia researchers were able to decrease the number of dendritic spines and thus prune the overabundance of synaptic connections during adolescence. As a result, the social behaviors associated with autism were decreased. However, the drug used to limit MTOR can cause serious side effects, and it is located inside cells, making it a potentially difficult protein to target.

SYNEK is a draft system that serves any beer, fresh from the tap, anywhere you want it.

I recently met the folks from Synek, and saw their interesting new beer system that is like a Keurig device for beer.

I am a lover of new and interesting things as well as an aspie tech blogger and I am intrigued by it.

The company, Synek, was recently funded via a Kickstarter Program see–> https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620669801/synek-any-beer-ever-made-fresh-on-your-counter

Here is an overview video as well from the folks at Synek:

Business Technology Basics Week One CRM’s

We are starting a new feature each week on  aspect of technology related to an industry, this week it is CRM’s.

A CRM is a tool for companies, especially their sales people to keep track of activity with customers. When I first started in outside sales in 1993, it was a card box and 3 by 5 cards. Over the years it developed into software and technology. I find that using a CRM is valuable, especially as I have aged. A CRM helps a person to keep track of who they talked with which company, and what was talked about. The CRM also can remind you when to call them back, and what to talk about as wellsalesman_knocking_on_door_md_wm

Small businesses are adopting CRM strategies for much the same reason as are larger businesses: In an effort to make their sales efforts more efficient and ultimately more productive. In its essence, CRM technology broadens the act of selling, connecting the individual salesperson into a broad information-gathering mechanism within the company. That data then is used to build customer loyalty and increase customer value over time.

The CRM Solution can keep a sales person productive, and also helps a company keep track of what the sales people did with their day and it also keeps track of all the customers and potential customers that the sales person obtained for the company. It also allows marketing, other sales people and management have a database of potential customers to draw from and market too. There are a variety of solutions available for crm’s or customer relationship managers this one example.
